A Window to the World
Through the project A Window to the World, we introduce children to different countries (notably Portugal), cultures, places, and realities without them needing to leave the classroom. We use videos produced by our Association, filled with curiosities, to spark interest in what exists beyond their community. After watching, we conduct activities related to the presented theme, such as group discussions and sharing of ideas and/or reflections. This approach broadens the children’s horizons, encourages respect for diversity, and nurtures the desire to learn more about the world. The favorite video has been the virtual visit to the Sanctuary of Fátima, which inspired the children to want to visit there one day!
Skills developed: Geographical and cultural knowledge, empathy, tolerance, observation skills, vocabulary enrichment, and intellectual curiosity.
